England beat Pakistan by two wickets to enter T20 World Cup semifinals

 


In the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup, England defeated Pakistan by 2 wickets in a Group Two Super 8 match at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka last night.


England overhauled the target of 165 runs losing 8 wickets and 5 balls to spare. Playing captain’s knock, Harry Brook made dazzling 100 off 51 balls while Liam Dawson picked up 3 wickets for England.


Earlier, electing to bat first, Pakistan scored 164 for loss of 9 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Sahibzada Farhan scored 63 off 45 while Shaheen Afridi picked up 3 wickets for Pakistan.


Today, New Zealand will take on Sri Lanka in a group 2 super 8 match at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The match will start at 7 pm.
