India’s HS Prannoy crashes out of China Open Badminton


In China Open badminton, India’s HS Prannoy’s campaign ended in the opening round after a 21-10, 21-14 defeat to Malaysia’s Leong Jun Hao in Changzhou today. Lakshya Sen and Ayush Shetty are the other Indian entries in the men’s singles draw. Ace Indian shuttler P.V. Sindhu will face compatriot Unnati Hooda in her opening Round of 32 clash of women’s singles tomorrow.

 

Devika Sihag will also compete in the women’s singles draw. In the men’s doubles draw, MR Arjun and Hariharan Amsakarunan are India’s sole representatives. Meanwhile, Olympian Tanisha Crasto and Dhruv Kapila, along with Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde, will represent India in the mixed doubles. India has no entries in the women’s doubles draw.
