Venezuela’s acting President Delcy RodrÃguez has declared seven days of national mourning as the death toll from the powerful earthquakes that struck the country on 24 June rose to 2,595, with more than 12,000 people injured and 189 buildings destroyed.
Two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.5 and 7.2 magnitude struck north of Caracas last week, leaving widespread devastation. Authorities said tens of thousands of people remain missing, with rescue and relief operations continuing.
