भारत और स्पेन के बीच UPI-Bizum डिजिटल पेमेंट लिंक पर बातचीत होगी तेज

भारत और स्पेन ने भारत के यूनिफाइड पेमेंट्स इंटरफेस (UPI) और स्पेन के Bizum डिजिटल भुगतान प्लेटफॉर्म के बीच इंटरऑपरेबिलिटी (आपसी कनेक्टिविटी) को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए तकनीकी स्तर पर बातचीत तेज करने पर सहमति जताई है।

यह मुद्दा केंद्रीय वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्री पीयूष गोयल की 13 से 18 जुलाई तक यूरोप के चार देशों के दौरे के दौरान स्पेन यात्रा में प्रमुखता से उठा। इस दौरान उन्होंने स्पेन के प्रथम उप-प्रधानमंत्री एवं अर्थव्यवस्था, व्यापार और व्यवसाय मंत्री कार्लोस कुएर्पो काबायेरो तथा उद्योग एवं पर्यटन मंत्री जॉर्डी हेरेउ बोहेर से मुलाकात की।

बैठक में दोनों देशों ने व्यापार और आर्थिक सहयोग को मजबूत करने के लिए हर वर्ष भारत-स्पेन संयुक्त आयोग (Joint Commission) की बैठक आयोजित करने का प्रस्ताव रखा, जिसमें उद्योग जगत की भागीदारी भी होगी। वहीं, स्पेन ने द्विपक्षीय सहयोग को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एक समर्पित ‘इंडिया टीम’ बनाने का सुझाव दिया।

दोनों देशों ने ऑटोमोबाइल, फार्मास्यूटिकल्स, रसायन, वस्त्र, नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा, पर्यटन और बुनियादी ढांचे जैसे क्षेत्रों में सहयोग की बड़ी संभावनाओं पर भी चर्चा की। इसके अलावा निवेश, पेशेवरों की आवाजाही और लैटिन अमेरिका में संयुक्त निवेश जैसे विषयों पर भी सहमति बनी।

पीयूष गोयल ने ‘मेक इन इंडिया’ के तहत चल रहे C-295 विमान कार्यक्रम की प्रगति का स्वागत किया। उन्होंने माइग्रेशन एंड मोबिलिटी पार्टनरशिप और सामाजिक सुरक्षा समझौते में हुई प्रगति की भी सराहना की।

भारत-स्पेन बिजनेस फोरम को संबोधित करते हुए गोयल ने उद्योग जगत से भारत-यूरोपीय संघ (EU) मुक्त व्यापार समझौते (FTA) से मिलने वाले अवसरों का लाभ उठाने के लिए जल्द साझेदारी करने का आह्वान किया। उन्होंने अगले दस वर्षों में दोनों देशों के बीच व्यापार, निवेश और पर्यटन को 10 गुना बढ़ाने का लक्ष्य भी रखा।

ब्रसेल्स में गोयल ने भारत-यूरोपीय संघ व्यापार एवं प्रौद्योगिकी परिषद (TTC) की तीसरी मंत्रिस्तरीय बैठक की सह-अध्यक्षता भी की। इस दौरान 2026-27 TTC कार्ययोजना को अपनाने का स्वागत किया गया। साथ ही 21 अतिरिक्त भारतीय मत्स्य प्रसंस्करण इकाइयों को मंजूरी मिलने से यूरोपीय संघ में स्वीकृत भारतीय इकाइयों की संख्या बढ़कर 625 हो गई।

भारत ने बैठक में भारतीय शिप रीसाइक्लिंग यार्ड को सूचीबद्ध करने और कौशल, शिक्षा एवं प्रतिभा की आवाजाही पर भारत-ईयू संवाद शुरू करने का भी प्रस्ताव रखा। दोनों पक्षों ने भारत-यूरोपीय संघ मुक्त व्यापार समझौते (FTA) को जल्द अंतिम रूप देने की प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई।

फिनलैंड दौरे के दौरान पीयूष गोयल ने कार्यवाहक प्रधानमंत्री एवं वित्त मंत्री रीक्का पुर्रा और आर्थिक मामलों के मंत्री सकारी पुइस्तो से मुलाकात की। बातचीत में आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (AI), 6G, क्वांटम तकनीक, स्वच्छ ऊर्जा, सर्कुलर इकोनॉमी, उन्नत विनिर्माण और नवाचार के क्षेत्रों में सहयोग बढ़ाने पर चर्चा हुई।

Char Dham Yatra temporarily suspended amid Heavy Rainfall as precautionary measu

The Char Dham Yatra is temporarily suspended for some time today as a precautionary measure in view of safety concerns. Amid a heavy rainfall warning in several districts of Uttarakhand and reports of landslides at various locations along the Char Dham Yatra route, the authorities decided to halt the pilgrimage temporarily.

Garhwal Commissioner Anand Swaroop has directed the District Magistrates concerned to ensure that pilgrims are accommodated at safe locations wherever roads are blocked and that the yatra resumes only after the routes are declared completely safe.

The administration has clarified that the decision has been taken with the safety of pilgrims as the highest priority. Pilgrims have also been urged not to pay heed to rumours and to follow only the official advisories issued by the administration.

Senegal’s President Bassirou Faye elected as new Chairman of ECOWAS

Senegal’s President, Bassirou Faye, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), succeeding Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio.

Faye emerged as the new chairman during the 69th Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the ECOWAS in Sierra Leone yesterday. He succeeds Bio at a particularly challenging period for ECOWAS, with security threats, democratic setbacks, and the withdrawal of Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger still dominating the regional agenda.

As the new chairman, he is expected to intensify efforts to rebuild trust and keep communication channels open with the three breakaway countries. His leadership could inject new momentum into ECOWAS’ reform agenda, especially on governance, accountability, youth inclusion and institutional credibility.

President Droupadi Murmu arrives in Republic of Moldova, holds bilateral talks with Moldovan President

President Droupadi Murmu has begun her engagements in the Republic of Moldova on the first leg of her three-nation visit. After receiving a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Presidential Palace in Chisinau, President Murmu held bilateral talks with Moldovan President Maia Sandu.

The two leaders first met one-on-one, followed by delegation-level discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Following the talks, President Droupadi Murmu and President Maia Sandu will make a joint press statement.

President Murmu will then visit the Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Monument, one of Moldova’s most important national landmarks dedicated to the mediaeval ruler Stephen the Great. The President will pay homage by laying a wreath at the monument. The visit is historic, as it marks the first-ever visit by an Indian President to Moldova, reflecting the growing partnership between the two countries.

अमेरिका की नजर ईरान पर, उधर चीन ने पनडुब्बी से परमाणु-सक्षम मिसाइल लांच कर बढ़ाया तनाव

हाल ही में चीनी पनडुब्बी से परमाणु हथियार ले जाने में सक्षम मिसाइल के प्रक्षेपण का समय जितना ध्यान आकर्षित करना चाहिए था, उतना नहीं कर पाया। एक रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि अमेरिका पश्चिम एशिया में जारी संघर्ष में उलझा हुआ है, जिससे इस घटनाक्रम पर अपेक्षित स्तर की निगरानी और चर्चा नहीं हो सकी।

एशिया मीडिया सेंटर की एक रिपोर्ट में कहा गया, “इस परीक्षण के समय पर जितनी गहन जांच और ध्यान दिया जाना चाहिए था, उतना नहीं दिया गया। फरवरी के अंत से अमेरिका ईरान के साथ युद्ध में व्यस्त है। चीन के इस प्रक्षेपण वाले सप्ताह में यह संघर्ष और भी तेज हो गया, जब वाशिंगटन ने होर्मुज जलडमरूमध्य में जहाजों पर हुए हमलों के बाद ईरान के दर्जनों ठिकानों पर हमले किए। पिछले कई महीनों से अमेरिका का ध्यान, उसकी सैन्य क्षमता और कूटनीतिक संसाधन खाड़ी क्षेत्र में जारी इस संघर्ष में केंद्रित रहे हैं।”

रिपोर्ट एशिया मीडिया सेंटर की है, जो न्यूजीलैंड के पत्रकारों को एशिया से जुड़े विषयों पर विशेषज्ञों की राय और संदर्भ सामग्री उपलब्ध कराने वाला एक संसाधन केंद्र है। लेखिका दिव्या मल्होत्रा का कहना है कि सिर्फ इसलिए यह नहीं कहा जा सकता कि चीन ने मौका देखकर यह परीक्षण किया। बीजिंग का कहना है कि यह उसके सालाना सैन्य प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम का हिस्सा था।

मल्होत्रा ​​ने लिखा, “यह परीक्षण ऐसे समय हुआ जब चीन के परमाणु संकेतों का गंभीर जवाब देने की क्षमता रखने वाला सबसे बड़ा देश यानी अमेरिका पूरी तरह दूसरे मोर्चे पर व्यस्त था। टोक्यो, कैनबरा और नई दिल्ली में रणनीतिक मामलों पर नजर रखने वाले लोगों ने इस बात पर जरूर ध्यान दिया होगा।” मल्होत्रा ने कहा कि इससे प्रशांत क्षेत्र की चिंता कम नहीं होती। उन्होंने लिखा, “दक्षिण प्रशांत परमाणु-मुक्त क्षेत्र के भीतर किसी मिसाइल का गिरना सबसे पहले न्यूजीलैंड के अपने रणनीतिक पड़ोस का मामला है। इस परीक्षण से पहले भी इस पूरे क्षेत्र में बढ़ती परमाणु अस्थिरता चिंता का विषय बनी हुई थी।”

रिपोर्ट में कहा गया कि यह कोई अकेली घटना नहीं है। इसमें सितंबर 2024 में चीन द्वारा प्रशांत महासागर में किया गया अंतरमहाद्वीपीय बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल (आईसीबीएम) परीक्षण भी याद दिलाया गया। यह 44 साल में पहली बार था जब चीन ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय जलक्षेत्र में ऐसा परीक्षण किया। इसके बाद दिसंबर 2024 में जमीन में बने साइलो-बेस्ड आईसीबीएम परीक्षण भी किए गए।

रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, “इन सभी घटनाओं से साफ पता चलता है कि चीन अब सिर्फ सीमित और गुप्त परमाणु क्षमता रखने वाले देश की तरह नहीं रह गया है। वह अपना परमाणु भंडार बढ़ा रहा है, उसे और मजबूत बना रहा है और अब उसे खुले तौर पर दुनिया के सामने दिखाने में भी ज्‍यादा सहज हो गया है।” मल्होत्रा के अनुसार, यह परीक्षण इस बात का संकेत है कि चीन अब अपने परमाणु हथियारों को पहले की तरह सिर्फ गुप्त रूप से विकसित नहीं कर रहा, बल्कि खुले तौर पर उनकी क्षमता भी दिखा रहा है।

रिपोर्ट में कहा गया, “अगर चीन के तेजी से बढ़ते पनडुब्बी बेड़े को भी साथ में देखा जाए, तो यह परीक्षण सिर्फ एक बार की ताकत दिखाने वाली कार्रवाई नहीं लगता। बल्कि यह लगातार समुद्र में परमाणु हथियारों से लैस पनडुब्बियों की तैनाती की दिशा में उठाया गया एक सोचा-समझा कदम दिखाई देता है। अमेरिका, फ्रांस और ब्रिटेन कई वर्षों से ऐसी लगातार समुद्री परमाणु गश्त करते रहे हैं।

भारत के सहयोग से मालदीव के 42 द्वीपों पर बनेंगे आधुनिक फिटनेस सेंटर

मालदीव के विदेश मंत्री इरुथिशाम आदम और युवा सशक्तीकरण, खेल एवं फिटनेस मंत्री अब्दुल्ला रफीउ ने भारत सरकार के उदार सहयोग के लिए आभार जताया। भारत और मालदीव के बीच मालदीव के समुदायों के विकास के लिए एक समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर होने के बाद दोनों मंत्रियों ने कहा कि भारत की इस मदद से मालदीव के लोगों के जीवन में बड़ा सकारात्मक बदलाव आएगा।

मालदीव के विदेश मंत्रालय ने बताया, “मालदीव सरकार (जीओएम) और भारत सरकार (जीओआई) ने भारत की अनुदान सहायता योजना ‘हाई इम्पैक्ट कम्युनिटी डेवलपमेंट प्रोजेक्ट्स (एचआईसीडीपी)’ के तहत 42 द्वीपों में फिटनेस और मनोरंजन केंद्रों के लिए उपकरण उपलब्ध कराने को लेकर समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। यह हस्ताक्षर समारोह विदेश मंत्रालय में आयोजित हुआ, जो दोनों देशों के लगातार मजबूत होते रिश्तों में एक और अहम कदम है।”

इस समझौते पर मालदीव सरकार की ओर से विदेश मंत्री इरुथिशम ने हस्ताक्षर किए। भारत की ओर से मालदीव में भारत के उच्चायुक्त जी. बालासुब्रमण्यम ने हस्ताक्षर किए, जबकि इस परियोजना को लागू करने वाली एजेंसी की ओर से मंत्री अब्दुल्ला राफिउ ने दस्तखत किए। समारोह के दौरान विदेश मंत्री इरुथिशम एडम ने कहा कि 42 द्वीपों में फिटनेस और मनोरंजन केंद्रों के लिए उपकरण उपलब्ध कराना वहां के लोगों के स्वास्थ्य और बेहतर जीवन के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण निवेश है।

उन्होंने कहा कि इस पहल से लोगों को स्वस्थ और सक्रिय जीवन जीने के लिए प्रोत्साहन मिलेगा। साथ ही महिलाओं और लड़कियों को अच्छी फिटनेस सुविधाएं अधिक आसानी से मिल सकेंगी। इससे महिलाओं का सशक्तीकरण, समानता और सामाजिक भागीदारी भी बढ़ेगी। समारोह में बोलते हुए मंत्री अब्दुल्ला रफीउ ने कहा कि ये फिटनेस और मनोरंजन केंद्र ऐसे सामुदायिक स्थान बनेंगे, जहां लोग स्वस्थ जीवनशैली अपनाने के साथ-साथ एक-दूसरे से जुड़ सकेंगे और पूरे समुदाय का विकास होगा।

उन्होंने कहा कि इस पहल से हर उम्र के लोगों, खासकर महिलाओं और युवाओं को खेल और मनोरंजन गतिविधियों में भाग लेने के ज्यादा अवसर मिलेंगे। इससे द्वीपों के लोगों का स्वास्थ्य बेहतर होगा और उनके समुदाय लंबे समय तक मजबूत और सक्षम बनेंगे। विदेश मंत्रालय के मुताबिक, दोनों मंत्रियों ने भारत सरकार की इस उदार मदद के लिए आभार जताया और कहा कि इससे मालदीव के लोगों के जीवन में सकारात्मक बदलाव आएगा।

विदेश मंत्री इरुथिशम ने भारत सरकार और भारत की जनता का विशेष धन्यवाद किया। उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की भी सराहना की और कहा कि दोनों देशों के रिश्तों को मजबूत बनाने में उनकी व्यक्तिगत प्रतिबद्धता अहम रही है।

Madhya Pradesh cabinet approves Uniform Civil Code

The Madhya Pradesh cabinet has approved the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill during a special meeting held at Jagdishpur, a historic town near Bhopal. Akashvani’s correspondent reports that tribal communities have been kept outside the scope of this law.

Madhya Pradesh has taken a major step towards implementing the Uniform Civil Code, or UCC. A cabinet meeting was held yesterday at Jagdishpur in Bhopal district, chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. At this meeting, the draft of the UCC Bill 2026 was unanimously approved. The bill will now be tabled in the monsoon session of the state assembly, which begins today. The session will run until 24 July.

After the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Yadav told reporters that the UCC will give equal status to everyone in the state. He said multiple marriages will no longer be valid in the state. Dr. Yadav explained further.

According to the UCC bill, those in live-in relationships will have to register within one month. Marriage registration will also be made mandatory down to the village level. However, tribal communities have been kept out of its scope.

67 people rescued after ferry sinks off Guyana coas

Sixty-seven people have so far been rescued after a ferry carrying 116 passengers and 17 crew sunk off the coast of Guyana yesterday, local officials have said. Fifteen children are among those recovered after the MV Barima capsized following its departure from the capital Georgetown. Dozens of people are still missing. 

Guyana’s Prime Minister Mark Phillips told media that those rescued also include 41 men and 11 women. Phillips said the boat had been within its weight capacity at the time of the incident and that it was licensed to hold more than 300 passengers. Public Works Minister Juan Edghill said a distress call was received at 23:01 local time yesterday, triggering a search operation involving government teams and privately-owned boats. He told reporters that emergency teams continued their search for survivors.

President Droupadi Murmu to hold delegation-level talks with President of Moldova Maia Sandu in Chisinau

President Droupadi Murmu will hold delegation-level talks with her Moldovan counterpart Maia Sandu in Chisinau today. President Murmu will also meet the President of the Parliament of Moldova, Igor Grosu, and will interact with members of the Moldova-India Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Further, the President will address a business forum and interact with the members of the Indian community. This is the first-ever visit by an Indian President to Moldova. The president is on a three-nation state visit to Moldova, North Macedonia, and Romania. 

After concluding her visit to Moldova, the President in the second leg of her visit, will reach North Macedonia tomorrow. This will also be the first-ever visit by an Indian President to North Macedonia. During the visit, the President will hold bilateral talks with her counterpart Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova and also meet the Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and the President of the Assembly. The President is also scheduled to address the Assembly of North Macedonia. Further, the President will address the India-North Macedonia Business Forum.

On the final leg of her visit, President Murmu will reach Romania on Thursday. During her two-day visit to Romania, the President will meet Romanian President Nicușor Dan, interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, President of the Senate Mircea Abrudean, and President of the Chamber of Deputies Sorin Grindeanu.

She is also scheduled to meet the members of the Romania-India Parliamentary Friendship Group. Later, President Murmu will address the India-Romania Business Forum and have interactions with the members of the Indian community.

The External Affairs Ministry said that the state visit to three countries by President Murmu reflects India’s commitment to strengthening its bilateral ties with these countries along with engagement with the wider Eastern European region.

Delhi Police says no permission sought or granted for any protest march & procession in New Delhi

Delhi Police has clarified that no permission has been sought or granted for any protest march and procession in the New Delhi District in view of Parliament Session beginning today.

In a social media post, the police said that Section 163 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 is in force in the area, hence protest marches, processions, demonstrations and assemblies of five or more persons are strictly prohibited in the area, except Jantar Mantar. Delhi Police has appealed all the citizens to respect the law, refrain from participating in any unauthorised gathering and march, and cooperate in maintaining public peace, safety and security.

IMD issues Red Alert for very heavy rainfall over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashm

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red colour warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rainfall over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir for the next two days. According to IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today.

Heavy rainfall is likely over Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra for the next three days. Similar conditions are expected over Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and northeastern states over the period.

The Met Department has forecast thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds over Ladakh, Vidarbha, Karnataka, Telangana, Rayalaseema and Andaman and Nicobar Islands over the next three days. Parts of Delhi witnessed a brief spell of light to very light rainfall early this morning. The weather agency has forecast moderate to light rainfall during the next three days.

Hydrogen is driving India’s journey towards sustainable transport future: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi

Under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, 12 pilot projects have been sanctioned to deploy 70 hydrogen-powered heavy-duty vehicles, supported by 16 hydrogen refuelling stations. Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, has said in a social media post that hydrogen is driving India’s journey towards a cleaner and more sustainable transport future. He stated that these pilot projects are paving the way for zero-emission mobility across India’s highways and urban transport corridors, covering multiple strategic routes across the country. Mr Joshi added that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is building a robust green hydrogen ecosystem to achieve a cleaner, more sustainable, and self-reliant future.

Delhi HC refuses to intervene in Sonam Wangchuk’s treatment at Safdarjung Hospital

The Delhi High Court today refused to intervene in activist Sonam Wangchuk’s treatment at Safdarjung Hospital, saying the government’s decision to move him from Jantar Mantar to the hospital could not be termed arbitrary. Justice Mini Pushkarna said no immediate order was needed to shift Wangchuk to a private facility, while noting that doctors were monitoring his condition and had provided treatment with his consent.

The court was hearing a plea by Wangchuk’s wife, Gitanjali Angmo, seeking his transfer to a private hospital. It issued notices to the Centre, Safdarjung Hospital and Delhi Police, asking for responses within three days. Wangchuk was moved to Safdarjung Hospital by police yesterday on the 21st day of his hunger strike.

Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today said that non-communicable diseases have emerged as one of the country’s biggest public health challenges and called for a mass public movement against these diseases. He said this while addressing the launch of the book titled ‘UNBROKEN: My Battle with Cancer and the Will to Lead’ authored by cancer survivor and former Senior Adviser in the Department of Science and Technology, Dr. Akhilesh Gupta, in New Delhi.

Dr Singh said, at present, the country faces not merely a lack of awareness but also the challenge of widespread health misinformation. He called for greater scientific awareness so that citizens rely on evidence-based medical advice while making decisions related to their health. He said, the country’s scientific ecosystem is steadily delivering world-class healthcare solutions suited to Indian conditions, while making cutting-edge treatments more affordable and accessible. The Minister noted that these efforts are helping India emerge as an important global destination for affordable healthcare innovation and bio-manufacturing.

The Olympiad commenced on 12th of July and concluded today. The Department of Atomic Energy said that there were 307 students from 78 countries in this year’s IBO. It added that a total of 31 gold, 61 silver, and 91 bronze medals were awarded. This was India’s 26th appearance at the IBO and of the 104 students so far, 17 have received gold medals, 69 silver, 17 bronze, and 1 honourable mention.
