President Droupadi Murmu will be on a 2-day visit to Romania beginning today. During her visit, President Murmu will meet Romanian President Nicușor Dan, interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, President of the Senate Mircea Abrudean, and President of the Chamber of Deputies Sorin Grindeanu. She is also scheduled to meet the members of the Romania-India Parliamentary Friendship Group.
Later, President Murmu will address the India-Romania Business Forum and have interactions with the members of the Indian community.
President Murmu is on a three-nation state visit to Moldova, North Macedonia, and Romania starting the 19th of this month.
External Affairs Ministry said that the state visit to three counties by President Murmu reflects India’s commitment of strengthening its bilateral ties with these countries along with engagement with the wider Eastern European region.
Meanwhile, President of North Macedonia Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova has said that it is a matter of pride that a women is the President of world’s largest democracy, India.
Talking to the Akashvani correspondent at Skopje in North Macedonia, Ms Davkova said earlier she was impressed by India’s long history and also spirituality.
She said, after meeting President Murmu, she was very much impressed. She said after meeting President Droupadi Murmu, she strongly felt that only women can change the world.
As President Droupadi Murmu is on an historic state visit to North Macedonia, one destination stands out not only for its breathtaking beauty but also for its rich history and global significance – Lake Ohrid.
