US forces launch new round of strikes against Iran

7/21/2026 01:08:00 PM

US President Donald Trump has warned Iran of massive retaliation, saying that Tehran would pay many times. His warning came yesterday after three American soldiers were killed recently, two in Jordan and one in Iraq. Meanwhile, the US forces today began a new round of strikes against Iran. In a social media post, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that the strikes are designed to further degrade Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that its naval forces had delivered ‘heavy blows’ to US assets and facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait through three rounds of missile and drone attacks in retaliation for US attacks on Iranian provinces. In a statement on its official news outlet, the IRGC said it destroyed drone maintenance and repair hangars used by US units at Al-Sakhir Air Base in Bahrain in the first round of the strikes.

It said, in the second round, the US silos housing Task Force 59 vessels at Salman Port in Bahrain were targeted and the vessels were heavily damaged. It further added that in the third round of its strikes set fire to and destroyed facilities for stationing, supporting, and equipping US special naval commandos at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait.

Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the repeated Iranian attacks, saying they targeted vital civilian infrastructure and posed a direct threat to civilian lives. Kuwait also alleged that its civil air navigation systems were targeted by Iranian drones, with air navigation services unaffected.
