Indian Parliamentary Delegation in Berlin Highlights Zero-Tolerance Against Terrorism and Nuclear Blackmail

The all-party Parliamentary delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad met with senior representatives from the German Government, Parliament and Think-Tanks in Berlin to convey India’s principled position of ‘Zero-Tolerance against Terrorism’ and its strategy to tackle cross-border terrorism.

 

 

The delegation also briefed the German counterparts and interlocutors about Operation Sindoor, which was India’s firm, precise, targeted and non-escalatory response to the terror attack.

 

 

The delegation interacted with senior members of German Parliament active in the fields of foreign policy and international affairs and a leading think-tank in Germany, the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung. Concluding the day’s engagements, the delegation also had an interaction with representatives from leading German think-tanks and eminent personalities at a reception hosted by the Ambassador of India to Germany, Ajit Gupte.

 

During the interactions, the delegation emphasised that nuclear blackmail should not be allowed as a cover for terrorism and discussed India’s strategy against cross-border terrorism in future. 

 

 

German interlocutors expressed support for India’s stance, with a shared recognition of the urgent need for the international community to come together in the fight against terrorism. They also discussed India-Germany cooperation in the field of Defence, Security and Counter-Terrorism as part of the deepening Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

Bangladesh celebrates Eid-ul-Azha with religious fervour

The festival of Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated in Bangladesh with religious fervour and solemnity. People started gathering in the mosques early in the morning to celebrate the festival of sacrifice and sharing.


In the capital city Dhaka, the national Baitul Mukarram mosque held five congregations for the devotees starting from 7 a.m. Special prayers were also held seeking continued peace and development of the nation as well as global peace. President Mohammed Shahabuddin in his message on the occasion had urged the wealthy and affluent people to come forward so that none is deprived of the joy of Eid.


Chief Adviser of the interim government of Bangladesh Professor Muhammad Yunus, in a message greeted the countrymen on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. North and South city corporations of Dhaka made special arrangements to clear the city of the waste of sacrificial animals.

US President Donald Trump has said that representatives from his cabinet will meet with those of China in London on Monday to discuss a trade deal. In a social media post, President Trump said, his phone call with President Xi had a positive conclusion. The announcement came after President Trump spoke to his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping amid weeks of escalating trade tensions over his sweeping global tariffs and battle over critical minerals.
