Governments of Andhra Pradesh and Australia have signed four Memoranda of Understanding in Amaravati today to strengthen cooperation in clean energy, advanced manufacturing, inclusive education, student mental health and skill development.
One of the agreements provides for a technology-enabled pilot project on student mental health in selected higher educational institutions. The programme, to be jointly implemented by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education and Australia’s Rebound, will provide students with access to mental health resources, wellness assessment tools and virtual counselling services while ensuring privacy.
The agreements were signed in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh and Australia’s Assistant Minister for International Education, Citizenship, Customs and Multicultural Affairs, Julian Hill.
Earlier, an Australian delegation led by Mr. Hill met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati. The Chief Minister highlighted the state’s rapid economic growth and invited Australian institutions and businesses to expand investment and collaboration in Andhra Pradesh.
