In tennis, top seed Italy’s Jannik Sinner retained the Wimbledon men’s singles title, defeating second seed Germany’s Alexander Zverev 6-7(7), 7-6(2), 6-3, 6-4 in the final at the All England Club last night. It is Sinner’s second consecutive Wimbledon men’s singles title and his fifth Grand Slam singles title. He also became the 10th player to successfully defend the Wimbledon men’s singles crown.
In the women’s doubles final, the 10th-seeded Chinese-French pair of Guo Hanyu and Kristina Mladenovic defeated the second-seeded Canadian-Brazilian duo of Gabriela Dabrowski and Luisa Stefani 6-3, 7-5 at Centre Court in London last evening to win the title.
