CISF Assistant Commandant Madhusudhan and other officials were present during the team’s halt in the district. At various stops along the route, the cyclists are interacting with local residents, students and youth. They are spreading awareness about maritime security challenges, including smuggling and other threats. The programme also promotes physical fitness, discipline and community participation.

After Chennai, the team will continue its journey southwards and is scheduled to conclude the campaign later this month. The cyclothon is part of the CISF’s nationwide campaign to mark 150 years of the national song “Vande Mataram.” The initiative aims to create awareness about coastal security and national unity.

Launched on January 28 from New Delhi, the 25-day cyclothon is being conducted under the theme “Secure Coasts, Prosperous India.” CISF personnel are covering around 6,500 kilometres along India’s eastern and western coastlines.

CTF 154 is specifically oriented towards training and capacity building of member nations of CMF. It reflects the region’s growing trust in India’s professional expertise, operational experience, and role as a Preferred Security Partner among the 47 nations of the CMF.

He reiterated that the agreement will not have any adverse impact on farmers, especially those in Punjab, and will instead benefit industry and trade while creating new employment opportunities for the youth.

Speaking to the media after a meeting of party workers at Mohali yesterday, he emphasised that crops grown in Punjab, such as wheat, paddy, maize, and sugarcane, have been kept outside the scope of the agreement and will not affect farmers in any way.

Mr. Jakhar appealed to farmer groups as well to clearly state what impact they believe the deal will have on Punjab’s farmers. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is firmly committed to protecting farmers’ interests, and the same resolve has ensured that Punjab farmers’ interests are safeguarded in this agreement. 

In Meghalaya, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma yesterday announced an innovative scheme offering 70 percent subsidy support for homestays in preparation for the National Games 2027. The announcement was made during the Land Handover ceremony for the proposed five-star Holiday Inn Resort at Hotel Polo Orchid in Tura, organised by the Department of Tourism.

Under the scheme, beneficiaries will receive 70 percent subsidy to establish homestays designed as sports hostels, which they will own and operate after the Games. “This innovative approach will not only address accommodation challenges but also create entrepreneurship and livelihoods for our people,” he said, stressing that Meghalaya must cater to all categories of tourists through a mix of high-end hotels and community-based homestays.

Sangma further outlined major connectivity and infrastructure initiatives, including runway expansion in Shillong, the Rs 50-crore state-funded repair and revival of Tura Airport with expected UDAN operations, heliport development, an upcoming IT park, a medical college, an additional secretariat and urban beautification projects.

The Chief Minister also described the proposed ₹130 crore Holiday Inn Resort project as a major leap forward for the Garo Hills region. He said the investment aligns with the State Government’s broader vision of transforming Meghalaya into a 10-billion-dollar economy through the strategic development of tourism and allied sectors. He articulated a long-term vision of transforming Meghalaya into a USD 150 billion economy by 2047.

Tourism Minister Timothy D. Shira and other dignitaries were present at the programme. The upcoming five-star resort is expected to enhance high-end hospitality infrastructure in the region and further position Meghalaya as a key tourism destination in the Northeast.

विदेश मंत्री एस. जयशंकर ने ब्रिक्स 2026 की थीम, लोगो और वेबसाइट का शुभारंभ किया। भारत ने “लचीलापन, नवाचार, सहयोग और सतत विकास के लिए निर्माण” थीम के तहत अपनी प्राथमिकताओं को साझा किया।

ब्रिक्स 2026 की अध्यक्षता भारत के पास

RTI को बनाया वसूली का औजार

शिकायतकर्ता राजाराम भारती के अनुसार, आरोपी एक संगठित गिरोह चला रहा था। यह गिरोह विभिन्न सरकारी विभागों में बार-बार आरटीआई लगाकर अधिकारियों पर मानसिक दबाव बनाता था। इसके बाद, जांच रुकवाने या शिकायत वापस लेने के बदले अधिकारियों को डरा-धमका कर अपने और अपने बेटे के पक्ष में टेंडर और सरकारी कार्य आवंटित करवाए जाते थे। शिकायत में आरोप लगाया है कि सतीश बेरी स्वयं बिजली विभाग का ठेकेदार है तथा उसका पुत्र भी नगर परिषद परवाणू में सिविल वर्क का ठेकेदार है।

नगर परिषद में भ्रष्टाचार का बड़ा खुलासा

अन्वेषण के दौरान नगर परिषद परवाणू के रिकॉर्ड ने भ्रष्टाचार की कई परतें खोली हैं। सेक्टर-4 हिमुडा (HIMUDA) फ्लैट्स की टेस्ट रिपोर्ट मामले में आरोपी ने भारी फर्जीवाड़ा किया। जांच में यह सामने आया है कि 11 जून 2020 को फर्जी तरीके से टेंडर लिया गया, उसी दिन 83 फ्लैटों की रिपोर्ट तैयार हुई और उसी दिन बिल भी जमा कर दिया गया। कार्य आवंटन के लिए जरूरी तीनों कोटेशन जाली पाए गए। नियमानुसार हिमुडा द्वारा नियुक्त ठेकेदार यह रिपोर्ट निशुल्क देता है, लेकिन आरोपी ने कागजों की कूटरचना कर नगर परिषद से मोटी रकम ऐंठ ली।

IPC की गंभीर धाराओं के तहत कार्रवाई

पुलिस ने दस्तावेजों के साथ छेड़छाड़ और धोखाधड़ी के पुख्ता सबूत मिलने पर मामले में धारा 467 IPC (महत्वपूर्ण दस्तावेजों की जालसाजी) को भी शामिल कर लिया है। मंगलवार को आरोपी को न्यायालय में पेश किया गया। पुलिस अब इस गिरोह के अन्य सहयोगियों और विभागीय मिलीभगत की भी गहराई से जांच कर रही है।

The government has revised downward both revenue and expenditure, following the Gen Z movement, which forced the interim government to take austerity measures until a new government is elected by the people. Re-estimations and prioritisation of the projects were done, and the Cabinet decided to cut expenses, which became the basis for the revised estimate. The government had initially presented a budget of Rs 1,964.11 billion for the current fiscal year, of which Rs 1,180.98 billion was allocated for current expenditure, Rs 407.88 billion for capital expenditure, and Rs 375.24 billion for fiscal management.

According to the revised estimates, current expenditure has been reduced to Rs 1,125.97 billion, capital expenditure to Rs 243.30 billion, and fiscal management to Rs 319.04 billion. With the current changes, the total size of the budget has been revised to Rs 1,688.32 billion, which is 85.96 percent of the original allocation. Overall, the budget has been downsized by 14.06 percentage points.

Of the total tax revenue, direct taxes are estimated at Rs 407.03 billion and indirect taxes at Rs 918.55 billion. Accordingly, direct taxes constitute 30.70 percent of total tax revenue, while indirect taxes account for 69.30 percent. 

The report states that current expenditure has increased due to the upcoming Nepal’s House of Representatives election costs, social security cost, employee dearness allowances, and relief to be given to the families of those injured and deceased in protests.

According to the reports,  the main priorities of expenditure have been set on the reconstruction of physical structures damaged by the Gen Z movement, payment for strategic projects under construction, and mandatory obligations like salary, allowance, pension, etc. High priority has been given to the necessary budget for the security agencies and the Election Commission, for conducting the House of Representatives election to be held on March 5.

In a social media post, DRDO said that the partnership will leverage complementary expertise to drive innovation for the design and development of instruments for high altitude survival, human performance restoration, off-grid energy systems and managing waste in challenging terrains.

He termed it as a visionary and inclusive Budget saying it will lay the foundation of achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047. He said, the Union Budget strengthens the MSME sector and promotes manufacturing. Mr Bharti said the Centre has given priority to Bihar, stating that financial assistance to the state, which stood at around three lakh crore rupees between 2004 and 2014, has been increased threefold to nine lakh crore rupees between 2014 to 2024.

Indra Hang Subba of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha said that the Budget has taken care of all sections of society. He stated that it is essential to strengthen all sectors to make India self-reliant. Mr Subba added that the provision made for industry-led research in the Budget is a welcome step. Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal of AAP has alleged that there is nothing concrete in the Union Budget for the people of the country. He said allocations for the National Health Mission have been reduced in the Budget.

Sudheer Gupta of BJP hailed the Union Budget saying that it will fulfil the vision of making India a developed nation by 2047.

आईजीएमसी शिमला में 12 फरवरी को आईजीएमसी कॉन्ट्रैक्ट वर्कर्स यूनियन ने पूर्ण हड़ताल का ऐलान किया है। इस संबंध में आईजीएमसी कॉन्ट्रैक्ट वर्कर्स यूनियन (सीटू) की आम सभा रविवार को आईजीएमसी शिमला परिसर में आयोजित की गई। इस दौरान कर्मचारियों की लंबित मांगो को लेकर विचार विमर्श किया गया जिसमें चार लेबर कोड, न्यूनतम मजदूरी समेत अन्य लंबित मांगों को लेकर पूर्ण हड़ताल करने का सर्वसम्मति से निर्णय लिया गया। सभा को संबोधित करते हुए वक्ताओं ने मांग की है कि सभी मजदूरों को हिमाचल प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा घोषित न्यूनतम मजदूरी का पूर्ण भुगतान किया जाए तथा अब तक कम दिए गए वेतन का समस्त बकाया एरियर ब्याज सहित एकमुश्त भुगतान किया जाए। उन्होंने आउटसोर्स के तहत कार्यरत नर्सिंग स्टाफ को उच्च कुशल श्रेणी का वेतन देने, सुप्रीम कोर्ट के निर्देशानुसार समान कार्य के लिए समान वेतन लागू किया जाए।

सीटू संबंधित यूनियन ने सभी कर्मचारियों को फोटोयुक्त पहचान पत्र, ओवरटाइम का दोगुना भुगतान, हर माह 7 तारीख से पूर्व वेतन भुगतान तथा विस्तृत वेतन पर्ची देने की मांग रखी। वहीं वक्ताओं ने 21 जून 2019, 1 फरवरी 2024 व वर्ष 2026 में यूनियन और आईजीएमसी प्रबंधन के बीच हुए लिखित समझौतों को सख्ती से लागू करने के साथ ही सभी मजदूरों को चार जोड़ी वर्दी व जूते-मोजे, वर्दी धुलाई भत्ता, ईपीएफ व ईएसआई का पूर्ण लाभ, वित्तीय वर्ष 2024-25 का बोनस भुगतान, कैंसर अस्पताल में कचरा ढोने के लिए ट्रॉली और डंपर, न्यू ओपीडी, नर्सिंग व डॉक्टर हॉस्टल तथा अस्पताल किचन में मजदूरों की संख्या बढ़ाने की मांग भी उठाई। रविवार को हुई इस सभा में दर्जनों आउटसोर्स व ठेका कर्मियों ने भाग लिया। आम सभा में सीटू प्रदेशाध्यक्ष विजेंद्र मेहरा, जिला सचिव विवेक कश्यप, आईजीएमसी कॉन्ट्रैक्ट वर्कर्स यूनियन अध्यक्ष वीरेंद्र लाल पामटा, उपाध्यक्ष निशा देवी व उमा देवी, महासचिव विद्या देवी, कोषाध्यक्ष सीताराम सहित वंदना, सुरेंद्रा, चम्पा, भूमि, धनी राम, सुशीला, सुनीता, पूजा, लेखराज, संदीप, अनिल, मुकेश, शालू, चमन, मनोज, हीरा सिंह, जय कुमार, मीरा मेहता, सरिता रघुवंशी, मुंशी राम, राजेंद्र, बिट्टू नेगी सहित बड़ी संख्या में मजदूर मौजूद रहे।

मांगें नहीं मानी तो और तेज होगा आंदोलन

सुपरवाइजरों द्वारा मजदूरों से बदसलूकी पर रोक, दोषियों पर कड़ी कार्रवाई, लॉन्ड्री विभाग में महिला मजदूरों के लिए अलग शौचालय, तथा मजदूरों की एक से अधिक स्थानों पर हाजिरी लगाने की व्यवस्था समाप्त करने की मांग की गई। यूनियन ने चेतावनी दी कि यदि मांगों का शीघ्र समाधान नहीं किया गया तो आंदोलन को और तेज किया जाएगा तथा 12 फरवरी को आईजीएमसी में पूर्ण हड़ताल की जाएगी।
