Ministry of Railways takes measures to mitigate train movement during foggy weather

 

The Ministry of Railways has taken measures to mitigate train movement during foggy weather conditions. The Ministry has advised the General Managers of Northern Railway, North Eastern Railway and North Central Railway to take real time stock of trains and address issues, including catering. 

 

It has also been suggested to make available spare rakes for Vande Bharat and Shatabdi Express to ensure the timely start of these trains. It added that for spare rakes, arrangement of catering will be made available by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, IRCTC.

 

The Ministry said that the Railway Board is monitoring trains and taking real-time action. It said, a War Room at IRCTC will be made operational for real -time monitoring of trains as well as addressing catering-related issues.
